Principal

West Harris has over twelve (12) years experience as a commercial real estate professional negotiating on behalf of institutions and private equity owners and tenants. Mr. Harris has completed office and retail transactions in the Birmingham market totaling over 3.5 million square feet. In 2004, Mr. Harris was recognized as Birmingham’s “Top Producer, Sales and Leasing” by the Commercial Million Dollar Sales Achievement Club. In 2005, West was recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal as “Who’s Who in Commercial Real Estate” highlighting leaders in the Commercial Real Estate industry and in 2007 was recognized further as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” business leaders in Birmingham.

Prior Experience
Before forming Harris Tynes Realty Group, Inc., Mr. Harris served as Vice President of Taylor & Mathis, operating its marketing and leasing division in Alabama, with oversight of management responsibilities. Prior to joining T&M, West spent three (3) years as Director of Marketing for Carter & Associates where he was responsible for leasing over one million square feet of Class-A office space in Birmingham, including Colonnade, Chase Corporate Center and SouthBridge.

Education
Mr. Harris earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a History minor from the University of Alabama in 1995. He holds an Alabama Brokers Licenses and is a CCIM Candidate.
